My DD's school will be having a program in celebration of the "Linggo ng Wika" this coming week, and she will perform together with her classmates a dance number.
Their costumes are:
Plain White Shirt, Flowery Skirt and A Headgear. Her teacher forgot to tell me the theme of their dance, I assume that they will look like Lilo from Lilo & Stitch, although she did not ask us to make some straw skirt, ( I bought one when I was in Manila for their dress-up time game at home). I'm also tasked to make the headgears using a cardboard box, crepe paper, and I bought some beads and sequins to add on it.
Zinnia, Blue Rose and mini-flowers are the flowers I used as an applique for my DD's gypsy skirt.
The Zinnia Flower is from - Annie's Attic "Fast and Fanciful curling ribbon" book. instead of using a curling ribbon, I used few sheepjeswol zermat for the orange (based) and pink and sheepjeswol superwash green for the leaves.
For the Blue Rose, it came from a Chinese pattern (109). Good thing it has a diagram, which I used for my guide, cause I can't read worst understand the chinese character anymore. I used some scrap yarn left from the hat I made last year.
As for the mini-flowers, it's my own pattern. here's how I did the mini-flowers.
Materials: crochet thread DMC, coats & clark hook: 1.75mm
Row 1: make 12 sc on the ring, sl st to on the beg ch. (12 sc)
Row 2: ch. 1, make *(sc, hdc & dc) on the next 3 st, next make (dc, hdc, & sc)*, rep. from * to *
Fasten off.
Here is the skirt before I've attached the flowers.
And here is the new look of the skirt with the flowers.
