my randon thoughts and feelings

Just discovered this site called WORDLE, kinda cool actually and thought of sharing it to you. Now you ask - okay, now what does it do? Just type in anything that comes to your mind or what you're feeling at the moment, and hit the go button, you'll see how your words will arrange in a unique pattern.

And as I was playing with the different kinds of layout and fonts, I noticed the same 2 words that stands out, can you guess? Look at the pictures below. come on it's so obvious, give up? well the words are: FRUSTRATED and YARNS, gee am I that transparent?

Okay so why should i want my blog to be reviewed (blogger not Multiply blog Laughing 4) simple, I want to make my blog look good, not only to me but to my readers as well, (if I have one!Giggle 2) So who is going to review my blog, you ask? This guy, he is offering it free of charge, only first come first serve basis though. The only condition is to leave a comment on his blog, and post about it on your blog, that easy! So if you're interest and want to request for a review, go to his site and start from there.

So what else? well not much, just tweaking my sidebar widget, left side, see my new widget cloud tag? cool isn't it? If you want one for your blog, click here. I'm also trying to change my date to a calendar icon, hopefully be able to fix it before I end this blog, (multi-tasking here!), okay just been to my other tab, able to change it, but I want to add color to the icon, will just try to fix it later.

a gift from a new friend

Guess What! I just got a unexpected gift from a new friend whom I met on a social networking site. She learned that I am into lace knitting (still a beginner, and was clamoring for the next KAL of KnitandKnag which will start on Sept 30.

I was talking about it on this social networking site and mentioned that I would love to join the KAL but can't cause of this credit-card thing.

The next dayI got an email from her telling me that she just join the KAL and since she's not really into shawl knitting she will just let me use her access on the KAL. Yay! I am so touch by her gestures and can't thank her enough.

Thank you so much Priscilla, now I'm off on a yarn hunting. And since you guys I will not be able to get hold of any laceweight yarn here in Riyadh (lys does not carry laceweight), I will just have to settle to fingering/sock yarn.

new friend and new toy, new knit project for Ravelympics entry

Meet our family's new friend, Brando. He came living with us two weeks ago. Brando is a 7-month old American Long-Haired tabby cat. He loves to play, and he's good in mousing but we don't have any mice at home, he loves to play hunting i.e, true to what I read on the internet about this cat's personality.

He loves to play throw and catch (so sure we got a cat, ). He eats a lot, and loves table food as well, but as we all know it has to be avoided. He's not a lap cat, he sure does spend most of the time on my lap especially when I'm at my computer.

I got a new toy, hubby got if for me last night, Isn't he sweet It's HP TouchSmartIQ500 22-inch widescreen, just love it! It's a touch screen desktop computer, kids love the note pad where they just doodle and play with the colors, alhtough it doesn't come with the pen flick, will look for one probably next month. It has a wireless keyboard and mouse, one of the features I like about it, less wires
. For other specs you check it out here. just scroll below and you'll see the latest model IQ500.

I am going to give this to my hubby, since he got a new hat from a friend who went to the States, and sure this will look good with his

and more test

Color Code: BLUE: The Social Butterfly

Here is the basics: For a more in depth analysis, I suggest you look up the Color Code, and take a more intensive test.

BLUE NEEDS: To be good (morally), To be understood, To be appreciated, Acceptance.

BLUE WANTS: To reveal insecurities, Quality, Autonomy, Secuirity.

SUMMARY: Blues are motivated by altruism. They love to do nice things for others. they look for opportunites to give up something in order to bring another person happiness. selflessness rather than selfishness is their guiding philosophy. Blues seek intimacy. They want to be loved and to love. A true blue will sacrifice a successful career to improve an important relationship. Blues crave being understood. They are gratified when they are listened to, when they feel understood and appreciated. Blues may have thier hearts broken more than most people, but they also spend much more time in love. Blues are directed by a strong moral conscience. They have a moral code that guides them in their decision making, their value judgements, and their leisure time. A blue would rather lose than cheat. Ethically, blues are people who should be in positions of power, but seldom are.

Me oh my, look whom I was compared to the Greek Mythology

You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.

When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.

You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.

Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches

Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas

plurk, plurkers, plurkistan, plurkville

So what is Plurk anyway? You have probably heard the work Plurkers, plurkettes, plurkistan plurkville and who knows what other names plurk users use to identify themsevles as Plurk user on their blogs.

I've been enjoying my time on PLURK, meeting fellow knitters, and people from all over the world. This is something similar to Twitter, where in you can put in all the latest happening in your life at the moment, without putting it in your blog, but is so different from Twitter, because you can actually get to talk to your friends after you typed your updates, it's almost like an IM.

And oh, you get to enjoy other stuff like smileys emoticons, make your plurk as widget to be included in your blog, personalize your plurk page using their pre-background or you can use css. All these can be enhanced as your Karma Points increases.

Now you're asking what is Karma Points? Well let just say I am motivated to log in to cause I can chat with friends at the same time gain karma points, updates my profile by changing my head shot from time to time...

So if you're interested and you want to know me more, just click here...PLURK ME

Hope to see you there.

a roller coaster ride these past two weeks...

W oohoo again, this time I finish the other pair, (below is a photo to prove I did a socks) and just got to cast-on another sock pattern, this time it's from knitty gritty - Breeze, I first saw this on my Plurk through Twistedhausfrau (almost wrote @Twistedhausfru, fellow plurkers know about this ), and when I was about to cast-on the Nanners, DD saw the Breeze from Knitty Summer 07 and demand I made her one. I casted-on and was already near the Toe part, when I rip it all, you see I modify the number of stitches just so to fit for her, and that's where I got all messed up...will just redo the whole thing or probably make my own since i have a Sock Wizard software.

Pattern: Waterfall Socks by Northern Sunshine Designs
Materials: Scheepjes Invicta Extra
Needles: 2.5mm set of dpns
Started: July 12, 2008
Finished: July 26, 2008

So aside from sock knitting that's been keeping me away from my blogging,- please bear with me as it's very hard for me to write this down, (but have to do this), I think it will also help me move on, you see the latest member of my ohana - which I introduced on my previous blog, passed away last july 23. Doctor suspect that when I got her from the pet store, she was already sick and that her condition was aggravated when she was given her first vaccine. I will not go into details on how I tried saving her for the past 3 weeks...I just wanted to remember her when was still with us.

Now on to my next project, after finishing the Waterfalls, and can't fall asleep, I decided to start a crochet doily, and at 1:00am until 4:00am I was able to finish the spiral part of the pattern, and it took me 4 to 5 more days to finish the edgings, probably I was bored with that part of the pattern. The doily is from a Japanese book.

Pattern: Japanese Doily Book
Size: 20.8 inches
Materials: 2.10 balls Monaco Thread
Hook size: 1.25mm
Started : July 26, 2008
Finished: August 1, 2008

I also joined Ravelympics, I am in three groups, hopefully I can finished it in time, I also just joined the SOTSiii and Mystery Stole 4, will post the badge as soon I am able.
