✎ Ripple Baby Blanket ✐

Yehey, done with my baby ripple afghan project. My youngest DD just loved it; she kept me awake last night because she wants her blanket to be finished by today.

While I was in Manila, and had a chance to shop for yarns in Makati, I dropped by at DREAMS – Glorietta I, Makati and bought these beautiful yarns from LionBrand Baby Soft. I was looking for lavender or a purple color to match with my ripple afghan I’m doing from Leisure Arts – Creative Crochet book, but unable to find one so I settle for Pastel Yellow, Cream and Pale Pink (in replacement of the lavender/purple one).

The afghan measures 29”x41”, I didn’t make a tension swatch since I don’t know how to do it. So the measurements according from the book, wasn’t followed.

It took me less than a month to finish the afghan. I started it while I was on vacation with my family in Manila last May. This will be my first afghan. At first, I wasn’t sure of myself if I’ll be able to make an afghan, because I haven’t tackle big project like this…and a ripple one at that.

It is such an overwhelming experience, finishing a project like this. It’s been a while since I felt this kind of excitement; like when I was able to finish my big cross – stitch project way back when I was still single, then finish two more when I was already in Riyadh.

I am now on my next project, it is a neck-warmer for my DH, and next I’m thinking of making my eldest a poncho or another blanket, hopefully it will be done by early September. As for myself, am thinking of a Mobeius Scarf or a Seraphina Shawl and be done by it by early October, just in time for the winter season here in Riyadh.

✎ Purse… purse…purse ✎

These are the purses I made for my DD's classmates. This time I used two threads on the base and flap of the phone only, unlike the first cellphone purse I made. Hope you like them…

✎ Angel's Cellphone Case ✎

Just finished another project yesterday, it took me almost 30 hours to finish it. It's a cellphone pouch I made for my DD so now she has a purse to put her cellphone anywhere she go without her phone getting misplace.

I got the pattern from
Crochet More, just click on the link if you're interested in making one for yourself or make it as a gift to little girls....

I used both 4ply lightweight acrylic yarn - variegated shades of blue green and DMC Petra no. 5 Ecru in shade. The purse turns out nicely more than I expected. Even my DD's classmates are asking me if I can make one for them....

I enjoyed making the purse, and am now thinking of making one for myself as my Digital Still Camera cozy, I'm thinking of making the strap shorter, just enough to make it as necklace.
